Contractors requiring CMMC Level 2 certification must have a CMMC Level 2 assessment conducted by an Authorized CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) such as Ariento found on the Cyber AB marketplace.

Before conducting a CMMC assessment, the contractor must specify the CMMC Assessment Scope, which informs which assets (people, technology and locations) within the contractor’s environment will be assessed. Assets are categorized into one of five categories according to the CMMC Scoping Guide.

For a managed services provider, we typically only assess the security protection assets and contractor risk managed assets in scope for their customers. There are usually no CUI assets. We also can evaluate the shared responsibility matrix (SRM) the MSP/MSSP provides to their customers.
